Fremantle’s forward line has taken on a new look in the absence of the injured Matthew Pavlich (Achilles) and Hayden Ballantyne (pectoral tendon).

Against the Kangaroos, Aaron Sandilands and Jon Griffin spent time inside-50 as tall targets, booting two goals each.

The only other multiple goal kicker was Michael Walters (2).

Walters nominated for second time

Alex Pearce and Chris Mayne kicked a goal each, with the latter taking six marks and offering a reliable target.

Hayden Crozier failed to hit the scoreboard but Fremantle did get goals through Nat FyfeMichael Johnson and Stephen Hill.

The side has not kicked more than 100 points since round 8 and has only broken triple figures five times this year.

Match Preview: Fremantle v Melbourne

For the first time this year, Fremantle head into Sunday’s match against the Demons off the back of consecutive losses.

One of the big questions this week is whether Pavlich will return after he was ruled out of Sunday’s game due to Achilles soreness.

Fremantle’s forward potency needs to improve after it won the inside-50 count 53 to 44 against the Kangaroos but kicked just 12 majors.
