A number of Freo players put forward a case for senior selection, following strong performances in Peel Thunder’s 52-point win over Swan Districts on Saturday.

Here are some of the players who could be in line for the round three clash against the West Coast Eagles.

Tendai Mzungu

Mzungu collected 25 disposals and a goal in the win, and was effective with his foot skills throughout the day. 19 of his 25 disposals were kicks and he was constantly on the attack, registering five inside 50s on the day.

His pressure remained at a high standard, also laying six tackles.

Mundy pleased with Freo's young bridage

Matt Taberner

Following a quiet game against the Western Bulldogs in round one, Taberner asserted himself against Swan Districts in the WAFL on Saturday. Playing the key position role, Taberner racked up 25 disposals, six entries inside 50 and kicked two goals. He also presented hard throughout the day, finishing with 10 marks.

Darcy Tucker

Tucker continued to display his poise and foot skills at the WAFL level, finishing with 21 touches and two goals.

The first year player impressed in his first NAB Challenge game against Richmond and has since found his footing in recent weeks after missing time due to knee soreness.

Hayden Crozier

Crozier returned to the field after missing last week due to concussion and was a solid contributor with 21 disposals and seven tackles. He found a lot of the ball and while he didn’t hit the scoreboard, he’s generally capable of finding the goals when the time comes.

Players not losing faith

Jonathon Griffin

With the Eagles possessing formidable ruck duo of Nic Naitanui and Scott Lycett, Freo may require a second ruckman for this week's Carlton Draught Derby. Griffin racked up 36 hit outs, 12 disposals and six inside 50s in a strong performance against Swan Districts.

Brady Grey

Grey has consistently displayed his “run-with” and pressuring ability, but found more of the football on Saturday, finishing with 23 touches. The third-year player is working his way into some form and has become a solid ball winning tagger at the WAFL level.
