Matthew Pavlich says while Fremantle’s 10-1 start to the year is a good launching pad, it guarantees nothing.

Fremantle’s first half of the year included a record-equalling nine straight wins and five interstate wins.

The side sits one game clear on top of the ladder at the half way mark of the season.

Hawks still team to beat

Pavlich said it was a solid first 11 games but the hard work continues.

“To turn 10 and one is extremely exciting for the club,” he said.

“It’s something we haven’t experienced in the past.

“It gives us a fantastic launching pad but unfortunately it guarantees us nothing.”

Freo plug away and get result

Pavlich said the players would enjoy a few days off ahead of this weekend’s bye and come back fresh for the second half of the season.

“We need to refresh and re-energise over the break and get ready for a big second half of the year,” he said.

“We’ll go to the break, refresh well and get ready for the second half of the season.”
