Exciting Fremantle forward Michael Walters has declared himself fit and ready for Saturday’s blockbuster Qualifying Final with Sydney.

Walters missed the final two matches of the home and away season with a calf injury but said he had overcome the ailment.

“The injury has come along well,” Walters said.

“I’ve done all the rehab, got through and feeling real good.

“I’m ready for this week.”

Lyon will stick to script

Walters is a key cog in Fremantle’s forward line having booted 38 goals this season, second only to Matthew Pavlich (39).

Senior coach Ross Lyon said earlier in the week that Walters would play.

The dynamic forward has revelled in finals in recent outings.

Walters kicked three goals in last year’s semi-final loss to Port Adelaide and the same number in the 2013 Preliminary Final win over Sydney.

He said the whole team welcomed the pressure and excitement of finals.

Games aren't won on paper: Lyon

“All the boys are looking forward to the finals,” he said.

“That’s why we train hard in the pre-season, to play finals.

“It’s ultimately to have some team success.”

Walters’ partner in crime, Hayden Ballantyne, may also return to the AFL side after he injured his pectoral tendon in round 16.

“It’s always good to play with Ballas, he’s that sort of player who tries his guts out each week,” Walters said.

“Having him back, makes us better.”
