Fremantle head coach Ross Lyon is adamant the team is still cohesive and working together as a collective unit, after On the Couch’s Gerard Healy and Jason Dunstall questioned his methods on Monday.

Lyon told Seven News on Tuesday night that the team were ‘open to criticism.’

“No one’s happy being 0-8,” Lyon said.

“We’re sticking together and we’re working our way through it.

“Some of our preparation wasn’t to the level we would have liked it at.

“We’ll learn from those mistakes.

“I’m sure the wheels will turn.”

Griffin's behind the scenes influence

Lyon said the club would always pick a team capable of winning, while at the same time striking a balance between experience and youthful opportunity.

“We’re trying to expose the list and create that opportunity for our young players.

“The AFL competition’s integrity is paramount. I’d be disappointed if they weren’t monitoring all teams.”

Fremantle take on Richmond at Domain Stadium this Saturday at 5:40pm.
