Number 2 – Sunday 10 August, 2003 – The heritage game

If there was one early game in Matthew Pavlich’s career that really made those in the East take notice for the first time, it was his stunner against North Melbourne at the MCG in 2003.

Wearing the red and white heritage strip with black shorts, Pavlich was incredible in helping Freo come from behind and win by a point.

His final quarter will become the stuff of legend at the Fremantle Dockers.

Pavlich finished the game with 25 disposals, six marks and two goals.

Teammate Aaron Sandilands rated the performance as the one that stood out the most for him in Pavlich’s career.

“I was in my first year, it was the heritage game, and I remember ‘Pav’ dominating the game in the last quarter and getting us over the line,” Sandilands said.
