The Fremantle charter flight departed Perth and headed for Avalon airport at 3.00pm Thursday.

Among the Freo players and coaching staff were close to 100 fans that are travelling over to support the team at Saturday’s qualifying final against Geelong at Simonds Stadium.

One of them was soon-to-be 22-year-old Yazan Majrouh, who was given the flight and ticket to the game as a gift.

Yazan who has been a Freo member for nine years, said it was the best birthday present he had ever received.

“I really wanted to head over to watch the finals, but with uni I didn’t think I could make it,” he said.

“My mum and dad bought if for me and it’s without a doubt the best present I’ve ever got.

“When dad said I was going I had to lift my game and finish all my uni work, it was a massive surprise.”

Yazan is travelling over with his brother, uncle, cousin and girlfriend Ashleigh who is just as excited as Yazan.

“I can’t wait, it’s going to be such a good birthday celebration for him,” Ashleigh said.

“I can’t wait to see the team win and get a home preliminary final.”
