Jon Griffin has joined in on stoppage practice at today’s main training session before Saturday’s Carlton Mid Derby.

The ruckman has been in some doubt after appearing to hurt his knee late in last Sunday’s win over Port Adelaide.

Griffin sat out the early drills in favour of some stationary handball and a few short runs.

But he rejoined the squad, which comprised a healthy amount of players vying for a spot in the senior team.

In a heartening sign, Viv Michie was out on the track going through some handball and kicking exercises.

The 20-year-old has barely kicked a footy in two seasons because of a serious foot injury.
