Captain Matthew Pavlich says Freo’s dominance over the Giants in Sunday’s 21-point win was not reflected on the scoreboard after an inaccurate display.

Fremantle kicked 12.12 for the game, which included a peppering of the goals in the third term.

Pavlich, who booted 2.2 and had 17 disposals, said conversion in front of goal was an area to improve on ahead of facing St Kilda at Etihad Stadium next Sunday.

Talking Points from Giants

“I thought we were pretty strong throughout,” he said.

“There were times we really could’ve put the game away but for our conversion.

“We should’ve done that in the second quarter.”

Pavlich said the side was improving in key areas it had highlighted after poor mid-season form, that included its two losses.

Captain calls on fans

“(The) last few weeks there has been a really strong focus on how we want to move the ball and there has been an implementation of that,” he said.

“We’re building.

“As always if you can’t produce your skills or convert it doesn’t necessarily show it on the scoreboard.”
