Boo Goodes at your own peril: Lyon

Fremantle coach Ross Lyon says fans will risk being viewed as racist if they boo Sydney veteran Adam Goodes in Saturday's qualifying final at Domain Stadium.
Goodes will return to Perth this week for the first time since being booed by West Coast supporters in his side's 52-point loss on July 26.
The 35-year-old believed some of the booing was racially motivated and the issue came to a head late in the match when Lewis Jetta performed an Indigenous war dance towards Eagles fans to protest the abuse Goodes was copping.

Book does not mean retirement: Pavlich

The West Australian

Fremantle captain Matthew Pavlich will decide whether he plays on into a 17th AFL season after the finals.
His autobiography, Purple Heart, celebrating the illustrious achievements of the 333-game Dockers great, will be released just days after next month’s grand final.
But Pavlich said the book’s impending release should not be read as an indication that he had already decided to retire after his seventh finals campaign.
The club’s greatest player said he would not make a decision before talking to coach Ross Lyon at the end of the season.

Fremantle Dockers coach Ross Lyon sends finals warning to rivals as Nat Fyfe races fitness clock

PerthNow

FREMANTLE coach Ross Lyon has warned Sydney and all AFL premiership hopefuls they will need their finest finals football in Perth this month if they plan to stay in the flag race at his Dockers expense.
And Lyon dropped an early finals series shock in confirming that champion on-baller Nat Fyfe is still racing time to recover from a leg injury that forced him to miss the last two weeks of the home-and-away season.
Fyfe, 23, must pass extensive fitness testing later this week before he will be cleared to lead his midfield against the Swans blue-chip on ball division, even with star playmakers Kieren Jack and Luke Parker missing the trip west with injuries.
