Fremantle midfielder Nat Fyfe has been named the AFL Players’ Association Most Valuable Player for the second year in a row.

He was presented the award by AFL Players’ Association president Matthew Pavlich on Tuesday night.

Fyfe watched the ceremony, hosted in Melbourne, with team mates at a function at The Old Brewery in Perth.

He said he was humbled by the award humbled him, particularly because it was peer voted.

"I was a little bit embarrassed to win it last year when I looked at all the big names, but feel a bit more comfortable now,” he said.

"It's great to be able to win it over two years because I operate under a model of improvement."

Fyfe named in Team of the Year

Fyfe had a stunning year averaging 29 disposals, 18 of those contested, in his 19 games this season.

He also averaged 8.6 clearances a game, the most in the AFL.

"I started really well this year, my body allowed me to have a really strong influence on the team," he said.

"The individual awards, while fantastic, they’re more of a thing I’ll look at back on at the end of my career.

"While I’m hopeful I can squeeze out a few more good games.

“While I’m right in the mix of finals footy I’m desperate to achieve something as a group"
