Fremantle have enjoyed some nailbiters in the 22-year history of the Len Hall Game, including three one-point thrillers since 2007.

Saturday night’s clash could be another for the ages when Freo takes on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium.

2017 – Fremantle 9.13 (67) def North Melbourne 9.8 (62)
Freo fans won’t have to look back very far to remember a close shave. Trailing by a point in the final minute, a last gasp goal by Shane Kersten saw Fremantle get over the line by five.

2015 – Fremantle 11.8 (74) def Sydney 8.12 (60)
Nat Fyfe led the way with 27 disposals and eight clearances in one of his nine three-vote performances in his Brownlow Medal winning year. Up front, captain Matthew Pavlich starred with three goals.

2013 – Fremantle 12.9 (81) def Richmond 12.8 (80)
Richmond raced out of the blocks with a five-goal opening term, only for Fremantle to claw their way back through the efforts of Michael Barlow (35 disposals) and Hayden Ballantyne (four goals). With under two minutes on the clock and Fremantle trailing by five points, Ballantyne gathered from the throw-in and snapped the winner.

The game was even closer than the final scoreline suggested, with Freo holding a one-point lead at quarter time, scores even at half time and Freo up by one at the final break.
Fyfe and David Mundy lead the way with 29 disposals each while Kepler Bradley bagged four goals.

2008 – Fremantle 13.10 (88) def by Geelong 13.11 (89)
A five-goal final term saw Geelong win a heartbreaker at Subiaco Oval. Peter Bell led the way with 31 disposals while Aaron Sandilands dominated the ruck with 42 hitouts. Pavlich added five goals to his tally on the way to kicking 67 for the season.

2007 – Fremantle 7.16 (58) def Adelaide 8.9 (57)
A wasteful Fremantle scraped over the line despite kicking one less goal than the Crows. Freo’s inaccuracy didn’t affect Troy Cook, who kicked 3.0, while Heath Black racked up 27 disposals.
