Fremantle had its main training session on Wednesday morning ahead of Friday night’s blockbuster against reigning premier Hawthorn at the MCG.

Given the club has to travel after a six-day break between Saturday’s win over Gold Coast and the round 3 game, the team did not have its usual two sessions this week.

A notable absentee from the track was All Australian defender Michael Johnson.

The club will already be without suspended pair Nat Fyfe and Zac Dawson, and Michael Barlow is out for between four to six weeks with a knee injury.

Their replacements could come from a host of players who took part in Wednesday’s training session, including, Lachie Neale, Hayden Crozier, Zac Clarke, Colin Sylvia and Garrick Ibbotson.

Alex Silvagni was also on Fremantle Oval, however he broke away from the main group after the warm-up and was put through a series of exercises by the fitness staff.

Fans will have a better idea of which players are in line for selection when the team flies out for Melbourne later today.

Fremantlefc.com.au will be there to provide a full list of which players travelled, so stay tuned to the club’s website.
