There will be no player happier to pull on the boots and purple jumper during this year’s NAB Cup series than Viv Michie.

The solidly built midfielder/forward has endured two years on the sidelines because of a foot injury.

Until this pre-season, he’d barely done more than a few short rehab sessions on the training track since being drafted in 2010.

But Michie’s injury woes appear to have been left behind him as he has participated in just about every session during the 2013 pre-season.

He’s impressed with his uncompromising approach and looks very fit.

Michie won’t have any issues throwing his body into the contests, considering two years of limited running has meant lots of time in the gym.

The NAB Cup may not carry the same significance as a home and away fixture, but if Freo’s number 20 gets a run, it will be the biggest game of his young career to date.
