Fremantle will face 2015 finalist the Western Bulldogs in round one of the 2016 AFL season. 

The AFL released the round one fixture for next year at the weekend, with Fremantle to travel for its round one clash with the Dogs at Etihad Stadium on Sunday 27 March.

The sides met just once in 2015, with Fremantle recording a tightly fought 13-point win at Etihad.

The season will open with arch rivals Richmond and Carlton on Thursday 26 March.

A full 2016 fixture is expected to be released shortly.
