Following an interrupted pre-season due to a back injury, Fremantle Docker Nat Fyfe said he must continue to find ways to improve, as he attempts to back up his historic 2015 season.

“It doesn’t get any easier,” Fyfe said.

“I’ve got to continue to stay above my game and have my preparation at its utmost.

“I have to do that to make sure the rest of the competition doesn’t swallow me.”

Talking points ahead of Richmond

While looking ahead may be the priority for Fyfe, he may be spending more time in the forward line, where he honed his craft in his earlier years.

“That’s a natural progression,” Fyfe said of his role in the forward line.

“I like playing as a forward and we as a whole need to kick more goals.

“Where I can I’ll try and get forward and isolate myself but we’ve had some real improvements come from our forwards this pre-season.”

After a frustrating start to the pre-season, Fyfe said he was ready to get back into competitive football, but was adamant about what he plans to achieve from the NAB Challenge.

“I’ve done a lot of running (over pre-season), but I’m pretty excited to get back into footy,” he said.

“When I first started pre-season games it was all excitement, but now it’s about getting valuable minutes into my legs and getting some real football time under my belt.”

Fyfe will be part of a strong Freo side who’ll face Richmond from Rushton Park on Friday night.
