Perth Airport is the latest location in WA to turn purple in Grand Final week, as the Fremantle Dockers get set to fly east for a date with Hawthorn.

Virgin Australia Stewards wearing Freo scarves along with thousands of fans greeted the playing group, who arrived on a team bus.

Even the security sniffer dogs were decked out in Freo gear.

Many fans are joining the team on the way over to Melbourne, while some not lucky enough to be going to the Grand Final just wanted to get a glimpse of their heroes and wish them well before they departed.

The players will arrive in Melbourne and go straight to the team hotel.

Friday’s festivities include the Grand Final Parade, which will commence at 12.00pm in St Kilda Road, adjacent to the Arts Centre Melbourne, travel north into Swanston Street, right into Collins Street and conclude with the presentation of players on the steps of the Old Treasury Building in Spring Street at approximately 12.50pm.

Senior coach Ross Lyon and captain Matthew Pavlich will then join their Hawthorn counterparts, Alastair Clarkson and Luke Hodge for the Grand Final media conference.
