Live the Dream, which is proudly supported by Decmil is a once in a lifetime opportunity for 16 young Australians to become immersed in the culture of the Fremantle Dockers Football Club and ‘live the life’ of an AFL player for five days.

Live the Dream offers participants a rare opportunity to develop skills and behaviours, which can deliver long-term benefits to the individual and their local community.

The program will include a tour of Fremantle headquarters and Patersons Stadium, an boot camp session at the Irwin Army Barracks located in Karrakatta as well as leadership and health and well being training sessions.

The Live the Dream program commences on Friday 11 July with Fremantle players Paul Duffield, Tommy Sheridan, Hayden Crozier, Stephen Hill, Chris Mayne, Nick Suban, Zac Clarke and Colin Sylvia as the participant’s mentors.

Meet 16-year-old Kristina Constantinou from Stirling

Kristina is currently studying in year 11 at John Septimus Roe Anglican Community School.

She represents her school in the senior soccer and football teams and was awarded the coaches award for her football team in 2013.

Kristina is eager to learn and develop her skills, not athletically but also as a leader.

Live the Dream will help me become more confident and develop my communication and leaderships skills for the future,” she said.

“To come back from this experience and share everything I would have learnt with my school community would be of great benefit to the wider community.”

Kristina’s teacher Jesscia Dicoski said Kristina has the makings of an excellent leader.

“Kristina is selfless, helpful, hard-working, passionate and committed,” Jessica said.

“When the opportunity arises she is willing to speak up amongst her peers even though it takes her out of her comfort zone.

“Kristina will benefit from this experience as it will enable her to practice her leadership skills.”
