Fremantle assistant coach Josh Carr has been fined $6000 after he appeared in court today to face three counts of breaching the WA Government’s Quarantine Directions Orders.

Fremantle CEO Simon Garlick said while Carr had made a serious error of judgement, the alleged offending was “absolutely out of character for Josh”.

“Josh has demonstrated genuine and deep remorse for breaching the police-issued directions orders,” Garlick said.

“He fronted both the playing group and an all of staff meeting, where he apologised for his actions and the negative impact they’d had on the Club.”

Carr was stood down by the Club for two weeks at the time of the alleged breaches.

The Club, in consultation with the AFL, will determine any further sanctions in due course.
