Fremantle midfielder Andy Brayshaw has been named vice-captain of the AFL Players 22under22 team after a stunning 2021 campaign.

Brayshaw joins Adam Cerra as the two Fremantle players selected, with the pair now having been named in the 22under22 twice each.

Three Fremantle players were nominated in the extended squad, with 20-year-old Caleb Serong the only player to miss out after the round of fan voting.

Brayshaw played 20 out of a possible 22 games this season, averaging a career-high 28.4 disposals per game (clearing his previous best of 19.88 per game in 2020).

The young midfielder also averaged 4.65 tackles, four inside 50s and 3.65 clearances per game, to go alongside eight goals for the year.

His leadership potential has been recognised with the vice-captain honour, alongside Carlton's Sam Walsh who was named as captain of the 22under22 team.

In a special 22under22 edition of the Dyl & Friends podcast, Brayshaw joined Western Bulldogs forward Aaron Naughton on the show. Listen to the episode here.
