Adam Cerra has officially nominated Carlton as his club of choice for a trade in the upcoming Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period.

The midfielder first informed Fremantle of his intentions to return to Victoria last month following the completion of the home and away season.

The 21-year-old has played 76 games for Fremantle in the past four seasons and finished third in the 2020 Doig Medal.

Executive general manager of football Peter Bell said Fremantle would work with Carlton to ensure the Club receives adequate compensation for a player drafted at no.5 in the 2017 NAB AFL Draft.

“Earlier today Adam informed us that Carlton is his club of preference to continue his AFL career,” Bell said.

“We’ll now begin negotiations with Carlton to ensure that our club receives adequate compensation for a player of Adam’s quality and character.”

The trade period will commence on Monday 4 October and wrap up on the evening of Wednesday 13 October.
