Fremantle will take on West Coast in an AFL Pre-Season Practice Match on Friday 25 February at Optus Stadium, in a game that will be streamed live on Kayo but closed to the public.

Bouncedown will be a 4.40pm AWST, with the format of the game, including the number of players and game length, to be determined by the two teams.

The clash replaces the previously planned pre-season hitout against Port Adelaide and is on top of Fremantle’s currently scheduled AAMI Community Series game against West Coast on Sunday 6 March at Fremantle Oval.

The game at Fremantle Oval is set to be open to members and supporters with the ticket on-sale date to be confirmed.

AFL Head of Broadcasting and Scheduling Marcus King said these practice matches play an important role for both AFL Clubs and supporters.

“We’re pleased to partner with Kayo which will see all pre-season practice matches streamed live in 2022,” King said.

“Our two objectives for pre-season practice matches are to give clubs the best opportunity to prepare ahead of the AAMI Community Series and to take matches to supporters in local and regional communities where possible.

“The practice matches will see football played at local grounds right across the country and we are really looking forward to connecting the elite men’s game to regional footy grounds – including Lavington Oval in Albury and Morwell Recreation Reserve – allowing fans to be able to watch their teams in action in their own backyard.”
