Fremantle have made one change for Saturday’s preliminary final against Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.

Livewire forward Makaela Tuhakaraina returns to the side, replacing the injured Sarah Wielstra after the ruck/forward sustained an ankle injury in Freo’s qualifying final win over North Melbourne.

Tiah Toth and Maggie MacLachlan have been named as the emergencies for the clash.

Fremantle skipper Hayley Miller will celebrate her 50th AFLW game against the Crows, the Club's first women’s player to reach the milestone.

It will be the sixth time that Fremantle and Adelaide have played off against each other in AFLW history, however, the two sides have never met in a final.

The winner will proceed to next weekend’s AFLW Grand Final against the winner of Melbourne v Brisbane in the other preliminary final to be played this Saturday.

FREMANTLE V ADELAIDE: PRELIMINARY FINAL PREVIEW

Senior Coach Trent Cooper said he had been happy with the side's preparation leading into Freo's prelim challenge.

“Unfortunately, Sarah Wielstra suffered an ankle injury in that qualifying final against North Melbourne,” Cooper said.

“Fortunately, we have got enough ruck options in the side with Roxy Roux and Aine Tighe, so we have elected to inject the pace of Makaela Tuhakaraina who missed the last game through the AFL's health and safety protocols.

“We are obviously coming up against a tough opposition, but we have been really happy with our preparation and the girls are ready to put up a great performance.”

Bouncedown for the clash is at 2.10pm ACDT (11.40am WST), with the game broadcast live on 7Mate and Fox Footy, as well as streamed live on Kayo and the official AFL Women’s app.

Entry to both preliminary finals this Saturday will be FREE with thanks to Telstra. Attendees are not required to redeem a ticket for the game, with proof of Covid vaccination the only prerequisite of entry.
