Sean Darcy came up against the AFL’s all-time record holder for hitouts in Todd Goldstein and put in one of his career-best ruck efforts.
Darcy had 20 hitouts to advantage, the second most in his career and the equal-fifth most in Fremantle history.

Effective Brodie
Will Brodie again shone with 37 disposals running at 89 per cent efficiency.
Of his 37 disposals, 33 were effective, a number that ranks ninth in Freo history.

Shoota’s impact
There was a bit of commentary around Lachie Schultz’s ‘quiet’ game with a goal to go with his seven disposals, but the small forward still had a huge impact up front, forcing eight turnovers.
This is two off the Fremantle record and the equal seventh-highest by a Fremantle player in a game.

Four quarter efforts continue
This game was the 43^rd time in Fremantle history that they have won every quarter in a game. Remarkably, Fremantle have not lost a quarter against North Melbourne since 2018, winning the past 16 quarters going back to round one, 2019.

Good defence = good percentage
Fremantle had its second-best game defensively in a full game in Club history, conceding just 24 points against North Melbourne.
The record lowest score conceded is 22 points against Brisbane in 2014, as well as the 19 points conceded against Sydney in shortened quarters in 2020.
The bonus of conceding a low amount of points is the boost it gives to percentage. While the 78-point win was the 14^thbiggest in Club history, it was the second highest percentage boost, behind the 2014 win against Brisbane.

Youth group in the votes
Seven players earned coaches votes as Freo swept the voting, and all were 24 years or under.

According to twitter’s stat genius @sirswampthing, Bailey Banfield is the youngest player to be the oldest player when a team sweeps the votes.

Six-game streak
The boys are currently on a six-game run, the fourth-longest in Club history. The challenges keep coming this Sunday against Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium, after the Suns just knocked off the highly-rated Swans in an impressive away win.

Freo have also had four five-game streaks in 2003, 2005, 2012 and 2013.

Uncharted territory
This is the only time Fremantle have had a 7-1 record after eight rounds.

Quick singles
Heath Chapman’s 12 intercept possessions was four off Freo’s record of 16 from Garrick Ibbotson and Luke Ryan (twice).
Chapman’s 25 disposals was a career high.
Andrew Brayshaw’s 10 clearances was a career-high.
Caleb Serong’s nine tackles was equal to his career-high.
Brayshaw’s 599 metres gained was the third-highest of his career, the others being his 713 in round one against Adelaide and 628 in round two against St Kilda.
Bailey Banfield and Michael Walters led Freo with eight score involvements each.
