Maggie MacLachlan has taken up an opportunity to join AFLW expansion club Port Adelaide ahead of Season 7 of the NAB AFL Women’s Competition.

Signed ahead of the 2021 season, the second-year utility played two games across her time at Fremantle.

McLachlan’s debut came against Melbourne in round nine last season after late team changes due to health and safety protocols opened the door for her AFLW berth.

Fremantle’s Head of Football Operations and Performance Bob Murphy wished MacLachlan all the best at Port Adelaide.

“Maggie has been a popular and lively member of the group and we were pleased to be able to watch her realise her AFLW dream earlier this year,” Murphy said.

“She will be missed, but we are supportive of her decision to pursue further opportunity at Port Adelaide and wish her all the best for the next stage of her career.”
