Fremantle will be without Michael Walters, Matt Taberner and Heath Chapman for Sunday’s clash against Brisbane at Optus Stadium, with the trio ruled out due to injury.

Chapman injured his hamstring at training on Thursday while Taberner (back) and Walters (hamstring tightness) were unable to prove their fitness.

They are the only omissions at this stage from the squad of 26, with the final 22 to be announced at 3pm on Friday afternoon.

Neil Erasmus, Mitch Crowden, Lloyd Meek, Ethan Hughes, Nathan Wilson and Connor Blakely have all been named as potential inclusions for the game.

Bailey Banfield is also technically an inclusion, playing a quarter against Melbourne as the medical sub replacement for Taberner.

Executive General Manager of Football Peter Bell said Chapman would be sent for scans.

“Unfortunately, Heath will be unavailable to play against Brisbane after sustaining a hamstring injury at training on Thursday,” Bell said.

“He will undergo scans in the coming days which will provide clarity on the extent of the injury.

“Michael has some tightness and awareness in his hamstring, so it was decided not to risk him this week.”

The game between the second placed Lions and third placed Freo will be broadcast live into WA on Channel 7 and Fox Footy and streamed on Kayo.
