Peel Thunder defeated the Perth Demons 11.13 (79) to 7.7 (49) at Mineral Resources Park in Lathlain on Saturday afternoon.

13 Fremantle-listed players were in action for the Thunder, as they secured their fourth straight win at the venue, having not lost a game there since round 15, 2018.

Heavy rain just before the start of play made for slippery conditions as the Thunder looked to put scoreboard pressure on the home team early, with plenty of shots on goal on offer as they locked it in their forward half for most of the quarter.

Blair Bell's goal for Peel at the 9-minute mark of the quarter was the only major score for either side in the opening quarter, as both sides struggled to make a clean connection with ball and foot in the blustery conditions.

Despite flying back into WA in the late hours of Friday night after travelling with the AFL squad to Melbourne as an emergency, Mitch Crowden wasted no time getting to work around the contest finishing the quarter with 13 disposals, helping give Peel an eight-point lead at the first break.

Darcy Tucker's clever snap over his shoulder at the 7-minute mark kicked off the goal scoring for the second quarter.

Some determined efforts from Karl Worner and a strong mark from Tucker led to Ethan Hughes marking inside 50, who kicked truly to give the Thunder a 16-point lead midway through the term.

However, spurred on by a passionate home crowd, Perth found some form late in the quarter, slamming on three goals to enter halftime with a one-point lead.

Despite being down on the scoreboard, the Thunder dominated the inside 50 count, 30 to 16 at halftime, with inaccuracy proving to be costly.

Young Fremantle midfielder Matthew Johnson's calculated kick inside 50 set up Peel's first goal of the third quarter, handing them back the lead early in the term.

Defender Nathan Wilson proved to be a clean set of hands coming off half-back as the Thunder got to work, and Hughes kicked his second major mid-way through the term.

Peel kept the Demons goalless for the quarter, kicking four goals straight compared to Perth's three behinds, giving themselves a 20-point lead heading into the final change.

A fightback looked to be on the cards as Perth reduced the margin to 14 points early in the final quarter, but goals to Tucker, Neil Erasmus and Nathan O'Driscoll throughout the term denied the Demons any comeback, with the Thunder walking away 30-point winners.

Tucker starred all day in the midfield and up forward, finishing the day with 32 disposals, five tackles, eight inside 50s and two goals in a best-on-ground performance.

Meanwhile Crowden wasn't too far behind Tucker, ending his impressive game with 32 disposals, four tackles and eight inside 50s.

Lloyd Meek kept up his fine form, with 18 disposals and 32 hit outs to his name for the afternoon.

In his second game back from a foot injury that kept him out of action for nine weeks, O'Driscoll continued to build his endurance back, finishing the game with 16 disposals and a goal.

In his league debut, young Fremantle tall Eric Benning played a role in defence in the absence of Joel Hamling.

With six rounds remaining, the Thunder currently sit a game outside the top five in sixth position with a healthy percentage and will now prepare to face the seventh-placed East Perth at Leederville Oval next Saturday afternoon.
