The Junior Members Christmas Party has become a popular event for the children and their families who look forward to kicking off their festive seasons with Fremantle each year.
Once again fairy floss and bouncy castles were a big hit, as was the skills clinic that the Fremantle playing group ran. New recruits Hayden Ballantyne, Stephen Hill, Tim Ruffles, Nick Suban, Ben Bucovaz, Zach Clarke, Michael Walters and Chris Hall were on hand to show the youngsters how to improve their handballing, kicking and stand their ground in the tug-o-war. Paul Hasleby gallantly bore the brunt of the enthusiastic juniors by holding the tackle bag and club captain Matthew Pavlich roved the crowd for interviews to hear first hand how much the kids were enjoying the day.
The signing tent attracted long queues as the junior members looked to get autographs on their Fremantle footballs that were given away following the clinic as a Christmas gift from the club.
The party goers then stayed to watch the players go through their paces in a short, sharp skills session on the oval.
The entertainment was provided by club sponsor 92.9- Perth’s Hit Music Station with Wippa from the breakfast show the MC for the event.
The morning was also a great opportunity for renewing and new members to secure their seats for the 2009 season, as well as do some Christmas shopping at the Team Store.
The morning was a great success and would not have been made possible without the support of Gold level sponsor Brownes and the club’s proud, loyal and passionate supporters.
