The Fremantle Dockers have confirmed their AFL side could remain on the east coast should the team continue to advance through the Toyota AFL Finals Series.

Fremantle are currently preparing for Saturday’s semi final clash like every other away trip, however should the team win they will not travel home the following day.

CEO Simon Garlick reiterated the team’s focus on Saturday’s final.

"In the event of a win over Collingwood on Saturday night, there are plans in place to be based in Melbourne until the completion of our finals campaign," Garlick said.

"The players and coaches have the challenge of taking on Collingwood in a semi final as their sole focus, while our operations team are working on arrangements should the team tick that box on Saturday night."

Garlick added the Club wanted to ensure the team had the best preparation for any potential future finals games.

“We owe it to our players, staff, members and supporters to ensure we give ourselves the best chance to maximise performance,” Garlick said.

“Given we have no more home games this finals series, we felt it appropriate to explore ways to optimise our chances of success."
