The first RAC Derby of the 2023 Toyota AFL Premiership Season has been locked in after the AFL confirmed the Fremantle home fixture on Friday morning.

Freo will host West Coast at Optus Stadium in round 3 on Sunday 2 April at 3.20pm WST.

The RAC Derby is one of three Fremantle fixtures already confirmed for the upcoming season, including the round 1 clash with St Kilda at Marvel Stadium and the AFL’s additional 'Gather Round' in round 5 against Gold Coast at Norwood Oval on Friday evening.

Fremantle CEO Simon Garlick said the Club was looking forward to hosting the first RAC Derby of 2023.

"It’s a highly anticipated game for our members and fans and we look forward to the Purple Army filling Optus Stadium as we take on our cross-town rivals," Garlick said

"It also means we have back-to-back home games in round 2 and round 3."

The full 2023 Toyota AFL Premiership Season fixture is expected to be confirmed in the coming days.
