Sean Darcy has been ruled out of Fremantle’s round 14 game against GWS, with the ruckman targeting a return from a hamstring injury against Essendon in round 15.

Fremantle will be without James Aish due to a concussion sustained against Richmond, while Will Brodie will also be unavailable due to an ankle injury.

High Performance Manager Phil Merriman confirmed Darcy, Aish and Brodie would be unavailable for selection.

“Sean is tracking really well but he won’t play this week,” Merriman said.

“He’ll be in line to play the following week.

“Aishy was in this morning and in really good spirits. We’ll get him into the protocols and hopefully, we’ll see him in a couple of weeks.

“Unfortunately, Will rolled his ankle at the back end of training last week. It was a pretty decent ankle injury.

“He’ll be touch and go this week but he’s more likely to play next week.”

Merriman expects Michael Walters to play a full game against the Giants after coming on as a sub against Richmond, playing 38 per cent game time and kicking two goals in his return from a calf injury.

“(Walters) was really good, he did a bit of top up running post game,” Merriman said.

“The plan for him is to play a full game this week.”

Defender Heath Chapman continues to progress in his recovery and is three weeks away from a return to football.
