Laura Pugh has been acknowledged as the equal best on ground by the coaches following Fremantle's eight-point RAC Derby win against West Coast on Sunday.

Pugh and West Coast's Ella Roberts, who won the medal as the best on ground, split the top votes with nine each.

The defender was calm and composed at half back, racking up 19 disposals and a team-leading 10 contested possessions while providing dash and dare on the rebound.

Mim Strom was awarded five coaches votes for her performance in the ruck and around the ground after not polling in the best on ground voting.

She totalled 25 hitouts, six marks (two contested), nine contested possessions and seven intercepts.

Aine Tighe was rewarded for her two goals, playing 100 per cent game time with seven tackles, four marks and three inside 50s.

Emma O'Driscoll and Ange Stannett earned one vote each.

O'Driscoll helped Fremantle stand tall under pressure in the third quarter with nine intercepts and 14 disposals.

Stannett was composed in her new forward role, taking six marks and laying five tackles inside 50 - two more than any other player on ground.
