Fremantle have received some positive news on the injury front, with Gabby O’Sullivan a chance to return to play as early as round five.

The utility dislocated her shoulder in the round two clash with Collingwood and is recovering well after initial fears she could miss the remainder of the 2023 NAB AFLW season.

AFLW Senior Physiotherapist Brett Fletcher said O’Sullivan was a chance to be available for Fremantle’s round five clash against Richmond on Friday 29 September at Ikon Park.

“We’ve been really fortunate with Gabby. We are looking to try and get her back this season,” Fletcher said.

“We’re hoping at this stage for a round five or round six return.”

Fletcher was hopeful Philipa Seth and Roxy Roux would be available for selection for the round four clash against Essendon at Windy Hill on Sunday.

Roux is on track for a long-awaited comeback, after suffering from shin soreness during pre-season while Seth has overcome a broken bone in her hand.

“Roxy played some minutes in the scrimmage last week and she should be available for selection this weekend,” Fletcher said.

“Phil should be available for this weekend – she just needed that extra week.”
