One of Fremantle’s key midfielders, Kiara Bowers will be ruled out for the round five clash against Richmond this Friday at IKON park.

Bowers missed the final quarter of Sunday’s game against Essendon, after experiencing knee soreness in the third quarter.

The midfielder was unavailable for round one’s RAC Derby due to a similar injury, which will make this the second game she will miss for the 2023 NAB AFL Women’s season to date.

AFLW Senior Physiotherapist Brett Fletcher gave an update on Bowers.

“Unfortunately, Kiara aggravated some bone bruising in her knee on Sunday’s clash,” Fletcher said.

“We’re just waiting to see how it settles down, but unfortunately she’ll be out for this week.”

Utility Gabby O’Sullivan is a chance to return for this week, after dislocating her shoulder in the round two clash with Collingwood.

Fletcher is hopeful for O’Sullivan’s return after a promising recovery.

“Gabby’s back training with the group now, she’ll be a test for this weekend,” Fletcher said.

Phil Seth also returned for the round four clash against Essendon, after being out of action for the first three rounds of the season.

“Phil Seth got through really well, no issues at all with her hand,” Fletcher said.
