Fremantle’s first to fourth year players were welcomed back to the Club on Monday morning, as they commenced pre-season training.

Key forward Josh Treacy said it’s exciting to be back at the Club and believes the group can build on the previous season and take it to the next level for 2024.

“It’s exciting – it always is this time of year," Treacy said.

"There is an excitement around getting back and getting the group together, and continuing to build on the next chapter of the footy Club is exciting.

“I think it’s a massive first couple of weeks back for us to come in, set the tone, and show the older guys the standard we’re looking to drive this year and hopefully they jump onboard when they come back.”

Standing tall at 6’4”, Treacy has high hopes for the pre-season ahead, getting on the front foot and setting his personal goals early on.

“(I’d like to) continue to grow, be a leader of our forward line and drag as many blokes along with me as I can and walk in today and try to set the standard very high,” Treacy said.

“I think there’s a lot of things you’re always looking to chip away at and continue to become a big part of in the Club’s success and work with others alongside me to do that.”

Moving into his fourth season at Fremantle, 21-year-old Treacy has a growing level of confidence, which he will take with him into 2024.

“(I have) a lot more confidence. It’s been a very quick three years and (I’ve had) a lot of learnings along the way, and still a lot to go, but it’s quite exciting at the same time,” Treacy said.

“I’m past that stage in my career where things are a bit easier so (I have to) really put the work in now, work even harder and challenge a lot of guys in the Club, and hopefully in the competition.”

Fremantle’s five-plus year players will return to training on Monday 27 November.
