In Fremantle’s 40-point win over Port Adelaide in round 7 earlier this season, it held the Power to just 36 forward 50 entries.

Freo did this by using great tackling pressure in its own forward half to force repeated turnovers and hold the ball in its attacking 50 for long periods.

A similar result on Sunday at AAMI Stadium should see the boys from the West take home the four points.

As was the case last weekend against Greater Western Sydney, the margin against Port in round 7 could have been greater had Freo kicked straight.

Sharpshooter Chris Mayne’s inclusion on Sunday should help rectify that issue, but converting opportunities must be team-wide.

Stephen Hill was given a rare day off from being tagged the last time the teams met and he punished the Power with 26 possessions (11 contested) and six clearances.

It’s unlikely Port will make the same mistake.

Travis Boak has been the form Power midfielder in recent weeks. Freo’s human glove Ryan Crowley restricted his influence in round 7 and should get the job again on Sunday.
