Garrick Ibbotson says he has full faith in his body ahead of this weekend’s NAB Challenge game against Sydney.

The 26-year-old has been name in a 29-man squad to take on the Swans at Drummoyne Oval at 1.10pm WST this Sunday.

FREO STARS RETURN TO TAKE ON SYDNEY

Ibbotson underwent surgery late last year on his right shoulder after dislocating it during Fremantle’s semi-final loss against Port Adelaide, but managed to get in a full pre-season.

“Pre-Christmas was non-contact training which gave me a chance to build my running  and then after Christmas I was into full contact and strength,” Ibbotson said.

“I’ve got full faith, I never go into a game thinking I am going to break down.

“If it does happen I deal with it then, but other than that I am always confident playing and I have no issues stepping out on the ground anytime.”

The defender trained with Nat Fyfe and Aaron Sandilands on the weekend.

The All Australian duo have also been included in the line-up to take on Sydney this Sunday.

“We had a session to get through last Saturday and Fyfe looks really good,” Ibbotson said.

“He’s put on a bit of weight and he looks really strong.

“’Fyfey’ said he wants to be a more powerful athlete through the midfield, which is pretty hard to imagine because he’s pretty good already.

“I’m absolutely looking forward to having him over there.”

After last Thursday’s NAB Challenge win over Melbourne at Fremantle Oval Ibbotson said the focus this week has been on improvement.

“Our skills were a bit off and we spent some time on some ball movement drills this week,” he said.

“I think if we can take that intensity this week and fix a bit of our ball movement we should be in with a good chance.

“I’m really looking forward to playing.”
