Following the 2023 AFLW Trade Period, Fremantle have confirmed two more changes to their AFLW playing list ahead of the 2023 AFLW Draft.

Fremantle midfielder Nikki Nield has been advised she will not be offered a contract for the upcoming 2024 season.

Nield joined the Club from Adelaide ahead of Season 7 and played nine games during her time in purple.

AFLW Football Operations Manager Darryn Fry thanked Nield for her contribution to the Club.

“We want to thank Nikki for her effort and commitment to our program and wish her all the best for the future,” Fry said.

“Nikki joined us from Adelaide and played nine games for Fremantle across two seasons.”

Following the inclusion of three players in the recent AFLW Trade Period, midfielder Airlie Runnalls has also been delisted with the Club committed to re-drafting her in the 2023 AFLW Draft on Monday 18 December.

“With the success of our trades and the strong retention of our AFLW playing group, we have had to clear one list spot to be able to take the mandatory two picks at the draft,” Fry said.

“Airlie wants to remain at Fremantle and we are committed to calling Airlie’s name out during Monday night’s Draft so she can continue her time in purple.”

Fremantle will head into the 2023 AFLW Draft with two picks, in rounds three and four (pick 52 and 73).

The 2023 AFLW Draft will be held on Monday 18 December and broadcast live on AFL.com.au.
