SQUAD UPDATE:

Jaeger O'Meara has been withdrawn from Sunday's clash with Brisbane for medical reasons, with Club debutant Jeremy Sharp to replace him on-field.

First-year player Cooper Simpson has been added to the extended squad of 26 and named on the extended interchange bench.

Fremantle's final starting 23 will be confirmed at 2pm WST on Friday at fremantlefc.com.au.

Fremantle’s first squad of 2024 will be headlined by two Club debutants for Sunday’s clash with last year’s grand finalists Brisbane at Optus Stadium.

Off season acquisition Oscar McDonald has been named at half back, while SSP pick Sharp has been named on the wing.

McDonald has played 86 games of AFL football during his time spent at former clubs Melbourne and Carlton, with the 26-year-old’s experience a valuable asset for Fremantle’s backline.

Sharp returned home west after spending three seasons on Gold Coast's list playing 23 games in the senior side, as he looks to cement a spot on Fremantle's wing.

Ruckman Sean Darcy is a notable omission from the squad of 26, with the star ruckman set to be sidelined for 3-4 weeks following an arthroscope on his left knee.

Michael Frederick will make his return to the starting line-up after recovering from a hamstring concern, while Brennan Cox (leg) has been named in the extended squad.

Fremantle's final team will be named at 2pm WST on Friday afternoon at fremantlefc.com.au.

Bouncedown for Sunday’s clash is 3.50pm WST with the game to be broadcast live on Channel 7 and Fox Footy, as well as streamed live on Kayo Sports.
