Fremantle have confirmed their final team of 23 to take on St Kilda in Friday night’s Round 8 clash at Marvel Stadium, with Luke Jackson making his return to the side.
Jackson’s inclusion is the only change, with Oscar McDonald (omitted) making way for the forward/ruck.
Sidelined since the Round 4 win over the Western Bulldogs with a hamstring injury, Jackson has recovered strongly, proving his fitness ahead of the primetime fixture.
The game will mark the first time this season that Jackson and fellow ruckman Sean Darcy have played together.
Speaking at his Tuesday morning media conference, Senior Coach Justin Longmuir gave insight into what the combination could look like.
“We’ll likely see Sean (Darcy) as our number one ruck, but we’ll give a bit more time to Jacko (Jackson) than we have in the past,” Longmuir said.
“Before he (Jackson) got injured, he was probably our most in-form player.”
Key forward Josh Treacy will look to continue his hot start to the season, named at full forward alongside Jackson and Jye Amiss.
Treacy sits equal second in the Coleman Medal race with St Kilda’s Jack Higgins, both having kicked 20 goals—three behind current leader Ben King.
Coming off his equal career-best 27-disposal game against the Crows, Matthew Johnson has been named on a wing, with Jeremy Sharp on the other.
After making his Club debut in the win over Adelaide, Quinton Narkle has been named on the bench alongside Heath Chapman, Isaiah Dudley, Murphy Reid and Corey Wagner.
McDonald, Neil Erasmus and Liam Reidy are emergencies for the clash.
The tactical substitute will be announced one hour before the game on Friday.
Bounce down for Friday night is at 5.40pm WST.
The game will be broadcast live on 7mate, Fox Footy, and Binge, and streamed live on 7plus and Kayo from 5.30pm WST.
