NINE Fremantle-listed players were in action for Peel Thunder at the weekend as the side went down in a tightly contested match with West Perth. Ruckman Liam Reidy was withdrawn late before the contest due to rib soreness.
Jaren Carr: Produced his best performance to date, gathering a team-high and career-high 23 disposals. Playing on the wing, the youngster worked hard up and down the ground to support, and kicked two behinds to accompany his five marks and four inside 50s.
James Aish: Returned to the side after featuring as Fremantle’s substitute the week prior. In Peel’s young side, he again provided valuable leadership on field, hardly wasting a disposal across his 19 touches, and applied good pressure with his five tackles.
Jack Delean: Playing further up the field has seen Delean continue his strong form, gathering 18 disposals, seven marks, six inside 50s, and a goal in Peel’s loss. Over the last six rounds, Delean has averaged 16 disposals, 3.6 marks, and 1.5 goals per game.
Josh Draper: Played his first WAFL League game since Round 7 and gathered 20 disposals, equal second-highest for Peel on the day. Draper also took seven marks and worked hard as Peel’s defensive unit came under pressure.
Charlie Nicholls: Kicked a career-high three goals and continues to develop strongly for the Thunder. Nicholls has now kicked two or more goals in three consecutive weeks, including a brilliant dribbler from the boundary at the beginning of the final term. He finished the day with 11 disposals, six marks, and three goals.
Quinton Narkle: Was one of Peel’s three multiple goal-kickers and picked up 20 disposals, four marks, four inside 50s, and two goals in a strong performance. In an undermanned Peel midfield, Narkle provided some spark when playing on-ball.
Brandon Walker: In his second game back following a shoulder dislocation, Walker provided great run with his pace off half-back. He finished with 17 disposals, four marks, and three tackles.
Hugh Davies: Gathered 18 disposals and seven marks in an under-pressure defensive line. West Perth enjoyed +11 inside 50s for the day, with Davies and his fellow defenders having to work hard throughout.
Ollie Murphy: Similar to Davies, Murphy had to work hard in defence and continues to develop his craft. He finished the day with seven disposals, four tackles, and two marks.
