In a milestone moment during the Club’s Round 18 clash with Hawthorn, the Freo Footprints program hosted its first ever curtain raiser at Optus Stadium.

Twenty-two of our oldest Footprints children dusted off their boots for a once-in-a-lifetime experience, taking to the field ahead of the main game.

This curtain raiser marked not just the kids' debut under stadium lights, but also their final year in Footprints before progressing to Auskick next season.

Guided by Fremantle AFLW stars Mim Strom and Orlagh Lally, the participants relished every minute - showcasing their skills on the same turf as their idols who they one day may replace.

For many, the thrill of seeing themselves on the big screen made the day even more unforgettable, a special memory these young Freo Footprinters will cherish forever.
