Fremantle is hopeful defenders Jess Low and Madi Scanlon will be available ahead of Friday night’s Round 7 clash with Carlton, with the duo listed as tests for the week.

Low has missed the past two rounds due to a concussion sustained in Round 4 against Sydney, while Scanlon could be available for her first game of football for the season, after recovering from separate ankle and quad injuries.

AFLW High Performance Manager Tom Sutherland provided an update on the pair.

“(Jess) is progressing really well now,” Sutherland said.

“Unfortunately, she just failed at the final hurdle for last week, so we had to hold her back.

“She’s looking really good and we’re hoping she’ll be available for this weekend if she gets through training.

“(Madi has progressed) a bit quicker than expected, which is great.

“She’ll be a test for this weekend. She’ll just have to get through full football, but we have good confidence she’ll be available.”

Áine Tighe continues to make strides in her knee rehab and is still on track for a Round 10 return to play.

“Áine’s going really well, so she’s back to football training this week, which is really exciting,” Sutherland said.

"It’s been a long time for her, and she’s put in a tonne of work."
