Draper’s Journey to the AFL | From Grassroots to Greatness
Josh Draper’s path to the AFL is one built on patience, persistence and belief. A product of the Fremantle Dockers’ Next Generation Academy, Draper first caught the eye with his athleticism and composure in defence. His hard work paid off when Fremantle selected him as a Cat B rookie in 2023, rewarding years of dedication within the Club’s development system. Draper spent his first season learning the ropes at AFL level before making his AFL debut for Fremantle in 2024, marking a significant milestone in his football journey.
