Georgie Brisbane has earned a maiden selection in the AFLPA’s 22under22 Team following an impressive debut AFLW season.

The key forward is the sole selection from Fremantle listed in the side and has been named on the interchange bench.

Fremantle’s first selection in the 2024 AFLW Draft, 18-year-old Brisbane made a strong impression in her first AFLW pre-season, which set her up for a Round 1 debut against Port Adelaide.

Brisbane played 11 out of a possible 12 games in 2025 and booted five goals across the season.

Standing tall at 175cm, Brisbane has worked hard to be a focal point in the forward line, with a stand-out performance in Freo's Round 6 clash with Essendon, taking five marks, collecting 10 disposals and booting a goal.

Her selection in the team underlines her fast development and versatility, swinging into the ruck and the backline when needed and taking important marks in crucial moments of a game.

Senior Coach Lisa Webb congratulated Brisbane on her selection and gave praise for her promising start to her AFLW career.

“We’re so proud of Georgie and the season she’s had in her first year, she continues to go from strength to strength and is deserving of her spot in the 22under22 side,” Webb said.

“She has a really high work rate, and I think she’s improved in every game this season.

“I know she’s fiercely determined to show up for her teammates, you know what you’re going to get from her each week, and she will always put her 100 per cent effort into everything.

“She understands what the game needs and has great football intelligence and she’s going to be a fantastic player for us moving forward.”
