The Fremantle Football Club acknowledges the complexities surrounding 26 January and the range of feelings it brings for people across our community, including pride and celebration for many communities, but also pain, grief and reflection for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
For our Indigenous players, staff and their families, this time of year can come with heightened emotions and increased exposure to racism. That’s why, as a Club, we have chosen to focus on what matters most, supporting our people.
In speaking with our players and leaders this week, a shared message emerged that this day holds a different meaning for Indigenous communities, and it’s important we remain mindful of how some people might be feeling.
Through our plans and everyday interactions, we remain committed to creating a Club that brings people together, on and off the field.
