David Mundy’s starring performance against the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium on Saturday has earned the midfielder eight votes in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year Award. 

Playing his 300th game, Mundy was awarded the most votes for a Fremantle player on the back of his 28 disposal, 11 contested possession, seven tackle, six clearances and two goal game.

The Bulldogs’ Lachie Hunter earned a perfect 10 votes from the coaches for his 32-disposal game.

Four other Freo players earned votes in the game in Bradley Hill (3 votes), Joel Hamling (2), Nathan Wilson (2) and Nat Fyfe (1).

Fyfe sits equal eighth in the overall standings with 23 votes while Michael Walters is equal 14th with 21 votes.

Carlton’s Patrick Cripps leads the overall voting with 38 votes.
