Fremantle captain Nat Fyfe has placed third in the Shadforth AFLCA Champion Player of the Year Award.

Fyfe tallied 88 votes for the season, finishing behind winner Marcus Bontempelli (107 votes) and Patrick Dangerfield (90). 

The AFLCA released the votes for rounds 22 and 23, as well as the final leaderboard on Tuesday.

Fyfe polled five votes in Fremantle’s round 23 clash against Port Adelaide, with 26 disposals, 15 contested possessions and a goal. 

Michael Walters and Ed Landgon polled votes in Fremantle’s round 22 clash against Essendon. 

Walters earned seven votes for his 36 disposals, eight marks and two goals while Langdon earned five votes for his 37 disposal performance.
