Fremantle Director of Performance Adam Beard has provided an update on the squad’s health ahead of Saturday’s clash with Melbourne at the MCG.
Sam Sturt is clear to continue his return to football after making his long-awaited comeback with Peel Thunder’s WAFL reserves side last weekend. Sturt kicked a goal on his return to action from repeated quad strains while nearing the end of his rehabilitation from a knee reconstruction.
“We’re really happy for Sam. He did really well in the reserves, got through 70 minutes of play and kicked a nice goal. He was really happy,” Beard said.
TEST
Brandon Walker (shoulder)
He copped a knock on his AC joint and wasn't able to finish the game.
He did modified training today and he'll be a test to play this weekend.
Corey Wagner (hip)
Corey had some hip bursitis during last week, so we managed him.
He completed some training today and he’ll be a test to play.
UNAVAILABLE
Jaeger O’Meara (ankle)
JOM (Jaeger) is doing really well.
It was good to see him out on track. He ran on the field today and he's progressing really well.
Charlie Nicholls (finger)
We just have to get through the return to contact now for Charlie.
He's around one to two weeks away.
