Fremantle captain Nat Fyfe will miss Saturday’s clash with Sydney at Optus Stadium due to an infection in his right elbow.

Fyfe had surgery on his elbow in February to relieve pain being caused by an inflamed bursa.

“Nat required a short stay in hospital to treat an infection in his right elbow via an antibiotic drip,” general manager of football Peter Bell said.

“Unfortunately, due to the recovery period required, Nat will not be available to play against Sydney on Saturday.

“Our medical staff will continue to monitor Nat’s progress to determine a return to playing time frame as soon as possible.”
